Global companies prioritize strengthening IT security functions

Research indicates a significant global trend toward strengthening IT security functions, with 75% of companies worldwide planning to enhance these capabilities within the next 12 months. In Turkey, this figure is slightly lower at 73%.

According to data from Kaspersky, 99% of organizations view IT security as a fundamental business function. The drive to bolster security is particularly strong among medium and large-scale enterprises. Specifically, 78% of medium-sized companies (500-2,499 employees) and 83% of large-scale organizations (500+ employees) intend to improve their security structures.

Sector-specific data shows that the IT sector leads with a 79% intention to increase security investments, followed by telecommunications at 76%. Among large organizations, the manufacturing sector shows the highest intent at 84%, followed by the IT sector at 82%, and the banking, finance, and insurance sectors at 79%. Despite this increased focus, a shortage of qualified cybersecurity professionals remains a primary obstacle to expanding security teams.
