Global cosmetics market projected to hit $644 billion by 2034

Fortune Business Insights estimates the worldwide cosmetics market was valued at $354.68 billion in 2025 and is forecast to grow to $644.17 billion by 2034, a compound annual growth rate of 6.97 %. Asia Pacific accounted for the largest share in 2025, contributing roughly 40.16 % of global sales, while leading players such as L’Oréal, Estée Lauder, Unilever and others are pursuing mergers, acquisitions and regional expansion.

Separately, the clean‑beauty segment—products marketed as natural, non‑toxic or environmentally friendly—is expected to expand from about $10.79 billion in 2025 to $37.91 billion by 2034. Growth is driven by heightened consumer awareness of ingredient safety, especially among Gen Z shoppers, and the lack of a federal definition for “clean” in the United States, which fuels both marketing claims and consumer confusion. Social media and online research are influencing purchasing decisions, prompting brands to seek credible certifications and transparent formulations.
