In Switzerland, glacial collapses have destroyed villages, while in Alaska, ice loss is reducing pressure on the Earth's crust, contributing to higher seismic activity.

In response to potential climate-driven disruptions and extreme weather patterns like Super El Niño, authorities are emphasizing emergency preparedness. British Minister Angela Eagle has advised households to maintain food and water supplies to bridge the gap until emergency services can arrive. Experts, including Professor Elizabeth Robinson from the London School of Economics, recommend keeping a one-to-two-week supply of shelf-stable foods such as rice, pasta, and canned goods that do not require heating during power outages.
