Global culinary festivals highlight international gastronomy
Chef Carline Irantus will represent Haiti at the 10th edition of the Village international de la gastronomie, held from September 10 to 13, 2026, at Place de la Concorde in Paris. The event will feature culinary demonstrations, tastings, and cultural performances from over 80 countries. Irantus plans to showcase Haitian heritage through dishes such as tchaka, which will be offered for free tasting, as well as Haitian pâté, riz djon djon, and banane pesée. Italy will be the featured country for this anniversary edition, with chef Alain Ducasse serving as the patron.
In Madagascar, the third Tiakaly Food Festival, themed ‘The Great Culinary Journey,’ is scheduled for August 29 and 30 at the Rayim Building in Ankorondrano. The festival aims to host 4,000 visitors and will feature over 70 stands representing more than 15 countries, including China, the United States, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, and Italy. Organized by Okalou Event and Tiakaly, the event will combine gastronomy with live music and family activities.
