Global culinary record attempts underway in Brazil and Portugal

Various municipalities are attempting to set culinary records through large-scale food preparations. In Estrela, Brazil, the Brasa e Prosa Festival is attempting to create the largest sausage in the country. The ‘Linguiça Estrela’ will be made using one ton of pork and is intended to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the municipality's emancipation. The event aims to serve up to 10,000 people.

In Vendas Novas, Portugal, organizers are aiming to cook a 20-meter bifana during the Festas do Concelho. This follows a previous attempt in 2024 that resulted in a 15-meter sandwich. The event includes charitable components, such as the preparation of one thousand ‘solidarity bifanas’ to support a specific cause.
