Global culinary trends highlight wine festivals and destination dining

The Horizontal Festival is returning to Centennial Vineyards in Bowral, Australia, from October 2-4. The event features over 80 wineries, distilleries, and artisan producers. A primary attraction is Argentine chef Francis Mallmann, who will host a live-fire cooking workshop titled ‘Godfather of Fire’ and a six-course meal at Osborn House. Other notable culinary figures participating include Matt Moran, Mark Best, and Mindy Woods, who will explore Indigenous ingredients.

In Europe, Wine Enthusiast has identified several top winery restaurants globally, with 22 located in Europe. Italy holds a significant presence with six entries, particularly in the Tuscany region at locations such as Osteria di Brolio and Il Ristoro di Castello di Ama. Other notable European destinations include Campania and Verona in Italy, and the Alentejo region in Portugal, where restaurants like Malhadinha Nova pair modern wines with traditional local cuisine.
