Global cybersecurity developments and cybercrime reports

Recent cybersecurity reports highlight several major incidents and enforcement actions. In Germany, the hacker group Anonymous claims to have leaked over 421,000 internal emails from the Russia-aligned AfD party. Meanwhile, a large-scale cybercrime crackdown in Africa resulted in 1,462 arrests and the recovery of more than USD 105 million.

Technical vulnerabilities and supply chain attacks were also noted, including the exploitation of Plex Media Server, vulnerabilities in Broadcom WiFi routers, and a supply chain attack on LiteLLM. Additionally, hackers hijacked five OVHcloud CLI releases to distribute malware, and a data breach at Capcom impacted approximately one million users.

Regulatory and legal actions include the United Kingdom imposing sanctions on Cryptomus for involvement in Russian money laundering, and a Nigerian man receiving an eight-year sentence for hacking, fraud, and identity theft.
