Global energy companies report diverse market and financial developments
Global energy companies are reporting diverse financial and operational developments. In Japan, Hokuriku Electric Power Company is working toward a Heads-of-Agreement with Petronas LNG Ltd to extend a long-term LNG supply contract and renegotiate terms, aiming to stabilize gas procurement costs.
In Peru, Luz del Sur has demonstrated moderate growth and reliable cash flows, with 2025 net profits increasing by double digits compared to 2024 due to rising electricity demand in Lima. Meanwhile, in the United States, Energy Transfer LP has seen its stock rise by 28.5% since the start of 2026, supported by its upcoming listing on the Texas Stock Exchange and high demand for energy infrastructure. SandRidge Energy Inc. also reported solid quarterly results, including a net profit in the double-digit millions and improved operating cash flow.
In Germany, Uniper SE continues its business model transformation following state stabilization. While revenues in energy trading and power plant operations are lower than during the peak of the energy crisis, the company has successfully reduced its net debt through capital injections and risk portfolio management.
