Venezuela and IAEA review nuclear technology cooperation
Venezuela and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) are reviewing technical cooperation to expand the use of nuclear technology for peaceful purposes. The collaboration focuses on several key areas, including the inspection of critical infrastructure through Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to detect structural flaws after seismic events without damaging materials.
Additionally, the partnership aims to strengthen scientific training in medicine, biological research, and microbiological processing. Discussions have also addressed the supply of technical resources for health centers and the implementation of safety regulations for the transport of radioactive substances to ensure better operational capacity in the country's healthcare sector.
