Global financial wealth reaches $333 trillion in 2025
Global financial wealth grew by 10.7% in 2025, reaching $333 trillion, marking the fastest annual growth rate since 2021, according to the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) Global Wealth Report 2026.
In a significant shift in capital geography, Hong Kong has overtaken Switzerland as the world's leading center for cross-border wealth. This transition was driven by capital inflows from mainland China, strong stock market performance, and IPO activity. Total cross-border wealth increased by 8.4% to $15.7 trillion.
The report also highlights the rising influence of institutional investors. Assets under management by sovereign wealth funds and public pension funds rose from $21 trillion in 2015 to $43 trillion in 2025, accounting for approximately 30% of professionally managed assets globally. BCG projects this figure could reach $59 trillion by 2030.
Looking ahead, emerging markets are expected to add nearly $7 trillion in financial wealth by 2030, with India, Brazil, and Mexico identified as key leaders in this growth.
