Global food industry updates: Sodiaal, Asda, and new product launches

Several developments are occurring across the global food and beverage sector. French dairy cooperative Sodiaal has completed a major IT integration following its acquisition of Yoplait Liberté Canada from General Mills. Working with Accenture, Sodiaal migrated the Canadian business onto the SAP platform to harmonize core business processes between its Canadian and European operations.

In the United Kingdom, retailer Asda has entered a 10-year supply agreement with Lancashire-based grower Len Wright Salads. The deal, valued at approximately £250 million, aims to strengthen Asda’s commitment to British agriculture and ensure supply security for its own-label prepared bagged salads through 2036.

Product expansions include Yeo Valley Organic launching new Mango and Strawberry & Passion Fruit flavors in its Fruited Greek Recipe Yogurt range, set to debut in Tesco stores in October 2026. Additionally, US-based snack brand Bakeful has released limited-edition autumn flavors, including maple mini donuts and pumpkin spice muffins, available at retailers such as Target and Amazon.
