Global Football Holdings seeks majority stake in Mexico's Club León

International investment consortium Global Football Holdings (GFH), together with U.S.-based MSP Sports Capital, is among four groups courting a 51% share of Club León, the historic Mexican football club owned by Grupo Pachuca. The club’s board, led by Jesús Martínez, has not yet accepted any proposal, and negotiations remain in an early stage.

GFH, headed by American investor David Blitzer, aims to integrate León into its multi‑club network that already includes Portugal’s Estoril Praia and several European sides such as AD Alcorcón, KSK Beveren, ADO Den Haag, Brøndby IF and a minority stake in Augsburg. The group is exploring possible swaps that could give Grupo Pachuca a position in Estoril as part of the deal. No agreement has been reached to date.
