La Liga: Real Madrid and Barcelona secure opening wins

The second round of La Liga has seen significant results for major Spanish clubs. Real Madrid secured a 2-1 victory against Espanyol in their first match under manager José Mourinho. Despite an early goal from Jude Bellingham, Espanyol equalized through Alex Collado. The match was marked by controversy, as Mourinho condemned alleged bullying and aggressive treatment of Vinícius Júnior by opponents and fans.

In contrast, defending champions Barcelona delivered a dominant performance, defeating Elche 5-0. Raphinha scored twice, while new signing Karim Adeyemi scored on his debut. Fermín López added two goals to complete the rout. However, Barcelona faced a setback when midfielder Gavi was forced off with an injury during the first half.

Other La Liga results included a 2-2 draw between Atlético Madrid and Villarreal, a match that featured a red card for Atlético's Rubén Le Normand. Getafe also secured a 1-0 win over Racing Santander.

In Saudi Arabian football, the second season of the Joy Elite U-21 League is set to begin, featuring 24 clubs aimed at developing young domestic talent.
