Global Guardian and Skyscanner release travel trends and safety data

New data from Global Guardian and Skyscanner highlight emerging travel trends and safety rankings for travelers. According to Global Guardian’s annual Risk Map, which evaluates countries based on eight indicators including political stability, healthcare, crime, and natural disasters, several European nations are ranked as the safest destinations. These include Iceland, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Switzerland, and Slovenia.

In contrast, countries such as Germany, France, and Spain are categorized under "moderate risk" due to factors like strikes and crime in specific hotspots.

Simultaneously, flight search engine Skyscanner has identified rising interest in specific destinations based on search volume from German users. Bratislava, Slovakia, saw a 399 percent increase in searches, aided by the return of direct flights from Germany. Other destinations showing significant growth include Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, for adventure travel, as well as São Vicente in Cape Verde, Sicily, and Morocco.
