Global housing initiatives use low-cost models to revitalize towns and combat homelessness

In Iowa, the non-profit association Joppa is developing Joppa Village, a community featuring 54 tiny houses ranging from 17 to 35 square meters. Designed to combat homelessness, the village offers monthly rents between 300 and 700 dollars. The project includes communal spaces such as a community center in a repurposed 1890 school building, which will house dining areas, health services, and a gymnasium. The initiative aims to provide not just shelter, but also access to collective spaces and employment opportunities.
