Global initiatives focus on artificial intelligence training and talent development

The International Council for Artificial Intelligence (CONIIA) organized the ‘CONIIA Technological Summer Camps 2026’ in Shenzhen, China, from September 20 to 30. The initiative provided four award-winning young women from Togo with an immersive technological experience designed to foster scientific vocations and promote female talent in the tech sector. The program aims to help participants develop academic and societal projects that integrate artificial intelligence to support inclusive and sustainable development.

In Mauritius, a two-day training session on artificial intelligence was held at Media Trust for approximately twenty journalists and editors. Supported by the French Embassy and the Institut Français de Maurice, the workshop focused on the ethical use of generative AI, the detection of deepfakes and misinformation, and the practical application of prompting for assisted writing. The training emphasized the evolving role of journalists, highlighting that their value now lies in information verification and investigative work in an era of low-cost automated content creation.
