Global initiatives promote gender equality in technology
Various organizations are working to bridge the gender digital divide through community support and international recognition. In Málaga, Spain, the feminist association Yes We Tech focuses on supporting women in STEM fields—science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The association aims to provide professional development, mentorship, and visibility to help women navigate and lead in the technological sector.
On a global scale, the EQUALS in Tech Awards 2027 has opened its call for applications. The awards seek to recognize programs, products, and services that expand opportunities for women and girls. The competition features three categories: Emerging Tech for Inclusion, Digital Skills & Leadership Pathways, and Safe and Inclusive Digital Spaces. The initiative is open to diverse organizations, including NGOs, universities, and social enterprises, allowing local projects to gain international recognition.
