Global Journalists Council holds awards and exhibition in London

A delegation of approximately 30 journalists from the Global Journalists Council (GJC) has arrived in London for the 2nd International Media Friendship Awards and a special archival exhibition titled ‘Turkey-London Relations’.

The exhibition, curated by Dr. Özgenur Reyhan Güler using the archive collection of Prof. Dr. Osman Kubilay Gül, marks the first Turkish exhibition in London in approximately 175 years. It utilizes Turkish and British archival documents and newspaper clippings to explore the historical journey of diplomacy, press, and social memory between the two nations.

The main event is scheduled for October 1, 2026, at Arundel House, featuring the award ceremony and the exhibition opening. Following the main event, the exhibition will continue for one week at the Yunus Emre Institute in London. GJC President Mehmet Ali Dim stated that the initiative aims to demonstrate how journalism carries the shared memory of societies and builds bridges of friendship between countries.
