Global law firms reach 42.9 billion euros in combined 2025 revenue

The world's ten largest law firms achieved a combined turnover of 42.905 billion euros in 2025, representing a 12.62% increase from the nearly 38.1 billion euros recorded the previous year. This growth occurred despite global geopolitical uncertainty, US government tariffs, and the high operational costs associated with implementing artificial intelligence within the sector.

Kirkland & Ellis leads the global rankings, reporting a revenue of over 9 billion euros, marking a 20% increase from 2024 and making it the first firm to surpass 10 billion dollars in annual revenue. Latham & Watkins holds the second position with 7.1 billion euros in revenue, an 18.7% increase. DLA Piper ranks third with 3.922 billion euros.

Market concentration remains high, as the top three firms—Kirkland & Ellis, Latham & Watkins, and DLA Piper—account for 46.75% of the total revenue generated by the top ten. Other notable performers include Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, which saw 18.5% growth to 3.604 billion euros, while A&O Shearman maintained its revenue at 3.167 billion euros.
