Global logistics and Polish maritime infrastructure see growth
Global trade and logistics are experiencing significant shifts driven by technological advancement and regional infrastructure growth. According to the DHL Globalization Tracker, globalization has reached a record 25.8 percent, with trade exchange expected to grow by 3.4 percent annually through 2029. John Pearson, CEO of DHL Express, notes that artificial intelligence is becoming a more significant driver of global trade than geopolitical volatility.
In Poland, maritime infrastructure is expanding to meet rising demand. Ports in Gdańsk, Gdynia, and Szczecin are seeing increased activity, while construction has begun on a deep-water terminal in Świnoujście. This growth is supported by a 5.1 percent increase in Polish imports during the first half of 2026 compared to the previous year. Additionally, the return of approximately 18 percent of Westbound Asia–Europe capacity through the Suez Canal by late August 2026 has further influenced regional logistics.
To address operational challenges in the supply chain, new digital tools like the LOG-MAG Planer are being introduced. This 2D tool aims to synchronize data between freight offices, warehouse dispatch zones, and drivers via PC and mobile platforms to reduce time and financial losses during mixed load planning.
