Global markets await US inflation and European economic data

Global markets are closely monitoring upcoming economic indicators, particularly inflation and employment data from the United States and Europe. In the US, investors are awaiting the August Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) inflation index, which is a preferred metric for the Federal Reserve, alongside ADP private sector employment estimates and final Q2 GDP figures. Additionally, official US crude oil stock reports are expected following indications that strategic reserves might be used to manage price increases.

In Europe, preliminary September inflation data is scheduled for release in France, Italy, and Germany. Germany will also report its unemployment rate. The United Kingdom is set to release final Q2 GDP data.

Market activity shows mixed signals; while European markets were expected to open above parity following a stable session on the Borsa Italiana, Wall Street recently closed lower due to rising bond yields. Corporate earnings are also in focus, with Micron Technology scheduled to report results.
