Bitcoin and crypto leaders forecast market maturity and growth
Cryptocurrency industry leaders and analysts are projecting a period of increased market maturity and potential price surges. CK Zheng, co-founder of ZX Squared Capital and former Credit Suisse executive, predicts Bitcoin could reach $150,000 by the end of 2027. Zheng attributes this outlook to the increasing influence of institutional investors and Bitcoin ETFs, which provide more stable, long-term capital compared to retail investors. He notes that the sector has become more resilient following the major collapses of 2022, such as FTX and Terra/Luna.
Separately, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao stated at the BitcoinAsia 2026 event in Hong Kong that the industry has moved past its most severe ‘crypto winter.’ Zhao highlighted the potential of real-world asset (RWA) tokenization to increase liquidity and reduce cross-border transaction barriers. He also commented on the evolving global regulatory landscape, noting progress in the United States regarding stablecoins, a friendly approach in Japan, and rapid growth in Hong Kong, while describing the United Arab Emirates as a leader in the space.
