Global markets react to Federal Reserve interest rate anticipation
Global financial markets are reacting to anticipation surrounding the Federal Reserve's upcoming interest rate decision. In the United States, Wall Street indices including the S&P 500 and Nasdaq opened higher following two days of declines. Market participants are pricing in a high probability of a 0.25 percentage point rate hike, which would be the first since 2023.
In Norway, the Oslo Børs main index rose 0.34 percent at the opening. Notable movements included a 2.94 percent increase for Yara and a 1.92 percent rise for Kongsberg Gruppen. Conversely, B2 Impact ASA shares fell over 10 percent following a sale of approximately 7 percent of the company by Nevedal Invest AS, a transaction valued at roughly 607 million kroner.
Additionally, Magnora Data Center announced an agreement with Sunly AS to acquire a 50 percent stake in the Risti Kampus data center project in Estonia. The project has an initial capacity of 180 MW, with potential expansion to 400 MW.
