Global Mercy hospital ship arrives in Ghana
The Global Mercy, the world’s largest civilian hospital ship, has arrived in Ghana to provide specialist medical care. Presidential Envoy for Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations, Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, commended the humanitarian organization for its long-standing partnership with the country, which began in 1991.
Afriyie-Ankrah highlighted the ship’s contributions to Ghana’s health sector through surgical interventions, professional training, and capacity-building initiatives. He praised the international volunteers and the collaboration between Mercy Ships and Ghanaian institutions, including the Ministry of Health and the Ghana Health Service.
