Global order undergoes transition toward multipolarity

The global order is undergoing a profound historical transition characterized by the shift from a unipolar to a multipolar system. This transformation is driven by the convergence of several major ruptures, including geopolitical shifts, technological revolutions in artificial intelligence, energy transitions, demographic changes, and the climate crisis.

The competition between the United States and China extends beyond trade into critical sectors such as semiconductors, robotics, artificial intelligence, energy, and defense. This rivalry includes strategic initiatives like the United States’ “Golden Dome” missile defense project. While competition is intense, experts emphasize the necessity of dialogue between these powers to manage risks that could impact the entire planet.

In this context, the European Union faces the challenge of transforming its economic integration into cohesive geopolitical power. Meanwhile, regions such as Latin America are tasked with defining strategic responses and redefining sovereignty as the international rules, alliances, and decision-making centers are reshaped.
