Global port operators and maritime logistics companies reported strong performance in the first half of the year across various regions.

In Italy, the ports of La Spezia and Marina di Carrara saw a combined cargo movement of 8,762,843 tonnes, a 5.8% increase compared to the first half of 2025. La Spezia recorded 6,237,219 tonnes moved and a 3.5% rise in container traffic, while Marina di Carrara saw a 16.5% increase in cargo volume.

In Oman, Sohar Port experienced a 52% surge in traffic, handling 52 million tonnes of goods during the first six months of 2026. This growth is supported by industrial expansion and the development of the Sohar Freezone, with total investments in the hub reaching approximately $6.82 billion.

In Vietnam, listed port operators showed significant growth. Gemadept Corporation reported a 16% increase in revenue to 3,120 billion dôngs, with net profits rising 71%. Vietnam Maritime Corporation also saw strong results, with revenue increasing 56% to 13,050 billion dôngs and net profits doubling.
