Global powers pursue strategic autonomy and AI cooperation

Global geopolitical dynamics are shifting as nations seek to reduce strategic dependence on major powers. At the BRICS summit, Chinese leader Xi Jinping proposed the creation of an open-source artificial intelligence community to foster cooperation among member nations. This proposal follows remarks from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the ‘weaponisation of technology and critical minerals.’ These developments occur ahead of a bilateral summit between Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump, where advanced technology and AI are expected to be primary topics of discussion.
