Global Rosary Congress convenes in Wa to promote peace
Thousands of Catholics, various religious groups, and traditional leaders have gathered at the Wa Malik Jaabre Sports Stadium for the second Global Rosary Congress. The three-day event focuses on evangelization, spiritual renewal, and fostering religious tolerance and peace.
During the keynote address, Bishop Peter Paul Yelezuome of the Damango Diocese described the Rosary as an active tool for evangelization rather than a passive tradition. He urged the faithful to address societal issues such as poverty, illiteracy, and tribal tensions through both prayer and practical acts of charity.
Reverend Father David Obeng Paintsil, founder of the Global Rosary Network, noted that the congress originated from digital prayer sessions held during the 2022 pandemic. Upper West Regional Minister Charles Lwanga Puozuing expressed support for the event, highlighting its potential to build mutual respect across different religious denominations.
