Global safety and relocation indices release 2026 rankings

Recent global indices have released findings regarding urban safety and international relocation suitability for 2026.

According to Numbeo’s Safety Index 2026, Qingdao, China, has become the world’s safest city with a score of 89.2, surpassing Abu Dhabi. Other top-ranking cities include Doha, Qatar, and Sharjah, UAE. In Turkey, Bursa remains the safest city with a score of 71.3, ranking 69th globally, followed by Antalya, Izmir, Ankara, and Istanbul. On a national level, Andorra leads the global safety index, while Turkey ranks 61st.

Separately, the 2026 Rumavi Global Relocation Index identifies Estonia as the best country for moving, based on criteria such as quality of life, tax policies, and political stability. The index evaluated 192 countries using 24 indicators, including data from the World Bank and Mercer. Turkey ranked 97th in this relocation assessment with a score of 60.9.
