Global television shipments reach 48.8 million units in Q2 2026
Global television shipments rose to 48.8 million units in the second quarter of 2026, marking a 3.6% increase compared to the same period last year. According to research firm Omdia, this growth was supported by the FIFA World Cup and Amazon Prime Day schedules.
Regional performance varied significantly. Emerging markets saw the strongest growth, with Eastern Europe increasing by 14.5% and Latin America and the Caribbean rising by 12.8%. In developed markets, Western Europe grew by 9.5% and North America by 4.7%. Conversely, China remains a primary drag on global growth, with shipments declining 15.1% following the end of local consumer stimulus programs. This has led Chinese manufacturers to redirect volumes toward export markets.
Regarding supply chains, memory shortages are expected to put upward pressure on television prices later this year. Manufacturers are reportedly shifting away from lower-resolution models in favor of 4K televisions due to constraints in the supply of low-capacity memory. Samsung has taken a leadership position in the Mini LED segment, which now accounts for 13% of global shipments.
