Global whisky industry sees new releases and brand initiatives
The global whisky industry is seeing a wave of new product releases and brand initiatives. In South Africa, Metanoia Whisky has released a single cask exclusive matured in red wine and Oloroso sherry casks, while Bain’s has introduced 23-year-old releases finished in Nederburg Chardonnay and Pinotage casks. Boplaas has also launched its oldest release to date, a 15-year-old single grain.
In the United States, James B. Beam Distilling Co. has launched ‘Creator Campus’ in Clermont, Kentucky, an initiative inviting digital creators, musicians, and filmmakers to develop original work on the distillery grounds. Additionally, Old Overholt has released its fourth annual Extra Aged Cask Strength 11-year Kentucky Style Rye. Laphroaig has also entered a celebrity collaboration with actor Willem Dafoe, releasing a 14-year-old single malt finished in Oloroso casks.
In Japan, Nikka Whisky has updated its lineup with the ‘Taketsuru’ White Label Pure Malt, which replaces the previous Black Label, and a new release from the Yoichi distillery that maintains a classic Japanese profile without an age statement.
