Globalcaja receives top sustainability rating from Sustainable Fitch

Sustainable Fitch has upgraded Globalcaja’s ESG (environmental, social, governance) rating from 3 to 2, raising its overall score from 57 to 64 points. The rating places the Spanish cooperative bank among the best‑valued financial institutions for sustainability.

The agency highlighted improvements in environmental transparency, a 50 % reduction target for scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030, a goal for 100 % renewable energy consumption, gender balance in the workforce, low staff turnover and robust governance. General Director Pedro Palacios said the rating confirms the bank’s tangible impact and its integration of sustainability into its cooperative banking model.
