Globe calls for private sector involvement in Pax Silica initiative

Globe President and CEO Carl Cruz has emphasized the necessity of collaboration between the Philippine government and the private sector to capitalize on the Pax Silica initiative. Cruz noted that local companies possess diverse capabilities that could complement government efforts as the nation seeks to strengthen its position within global technology supply chains.

This sentiment aligns with recent statements from Ayala Corporation Chairman Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala, who urged businesses to proactively identify how their existing strengths can contribute to emerging opportunities.

To facilitate this participation, Trade Undersecretary Ceferino Rodolfo has proposed a Philippine Technology Corridor. This initiative includes several strategic nodes: advanced manufacturing in New Clark City, integrated circuit design in Metro Manila, AI compute and cloud infrastructure in Batangas, a connectivity gateway in Aurora, critical minerals in Mindanao, and a semiconductor fabrication hub in Bulacan.
