Globo announces coverage strategy for 2027 Women's World Cup

Globo has announced its comprehensive coverage strategy for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup, which will be hosted in Brazil. The broadcaster holds the rights to all 64 matches scheduled between June 24 and July 25, 2027. SporTV will provide live coverage of every match, while TV Globo will broadcast 56 matches in real-time alongside eight compact versions. Digital coverage will be expanded through Globoplay and GE TV.

To enhance entertainment, the network has appointed Sabrina Sato and the character Blogueirinha to lead tournament-related programming. Additionally, a biographical film about six-time world player of the year Marta, directed by Andrucha Waddington, is slated for release in April 2027. CazéTV has also secured rights to all 64 matches for digital platforms.

This expansion follows significant growth in women's football viewership. The 2026 Brasileirão Feminino reached 56.3 million people across Globo's platforms, a 14% increase from the previous year. Growth was particularly notable among young viewers aged 18-24, who saw a 37% increase, and among women, who saw a 24% increase.
