Brazil investigates Viih Tube reality show over labor violations

Influencer Viih Tube and her partner Eliezer produced a reality‑show that featured their domestic workers performing demeaning tasks, such as reaching into a toilet or trash can for plastic coins. The program sparked criticism from the public and the Superior Labour Court, which warned that exposing employees to humiliating conditions could constitute moral harassment.

The Ministry of Labour and Employment (MPT) opened a formal investigation and conducted an urgent hearing with the couple to examine possible breaches of workers’ rights. At the same time, the influencers’ Instagram, TikTok and YouTube accounts were taken down, and the episodes were removed from the platforms. The creators argue the show was staged to highlight the precarious "6x1" work scale and to stimulate debate about labour conditions.

The controversy has drawn statements from the couple’s mother defending the program, and the case remains under review by labour authorities.
