Globo revamps Virginia Fonseca segment on Domingão after criticized debut

Globo announced changes to the "Diário de Virginia" segment on the Sunday program Domingão with Huck following a poorly received debut. The segment, presented by digital influencer Virginia Fonseca, featured tours of New York and New Jersey, jokes with friend Lucas Guedez, and occasional references to her rumored link with Vinícius Júnior, but was criticised for adding little to the World Cup coverage.

The broadcaster will increase comedic elements and interaction with Brazilians living in the United States while retaining Lucas Guedez and the core premise. The debut reached a peak rating of 11 points and an average of 10 points in Greater São Paulo, and generated about 10 million views on Globo’s digital platforms, but the negative feedback prompted the format adjustments.
