Globo telenovela Além do Tempo records lowest viewership in afternoon slot

The rerun of the telenovela ‘Além do Tempo’ has concluded its run in Globo’s ‘Edição Especial’ slot with the lowest viewership in the history of that programming block. The production finished with an average of approximately 10.2 to 10.3 points in major markets, surpassing the previous record for lowest viewership held by ‘Cheias de Charme’ (2012).

Data indicates a decline in performance compared to previous reruns in the same slot, such as ‘Terra Nostra’ and ‘O Cravo e a Rosa’. Analysts suggest the audience for this specific afternoon time slot tends to reject more modern or pop-culture-heavy themes, favoring more conventional plots.

The conclusion of ‘Além do Tempo’ leaves the responsibility for maintaining afternoon ratings to the upcoming production, ‘Roque Santeiro’, which has shown fluctuating performance in its first three weeks.
