Globoplay announces new legal drama series Verônika com K

Globoplay has released the official trailer for ‘Verônika com K’, a new Brazilian legal drama series starring Roberta Rodrigues. Set six years before the fifth season of ‘Arcanjo Renegado’, the series shifts focus from police operations to the ethical dilemmas of criminal law.

The plot follows Verônika, an ambitious criminal lawyer who grew up in the fictional Morro de São Jerônimo in Rio de Janeiro. After leaving her community following a family tragedy, she built a successful career until a corruption scandal involving her mentor, Orestes Schneider, leads to his arrest. Facing financial and professional instability, Verônika is presented with a dilemma: defending Rod, the drug kingpin of her former community and her former lover.

As she navigates this decision, she becomes entangled in a web of police conspiracies, territorial disputes, and legal battles against an ambitious prosecutor. The series, created by José Júnior and directed by Silvio Guindane, is scheduled to premiere on October 22 with eight episodes available simultaneously.
