Globoplay announces 'Paraíso Perdido' soap opera starring Alexandre Nero

Globoplay has announced 'Paraíso Perdido', a new 40-chapter original soap opera inspired by the works of Nelson Rodrigues. The production is scheduled to begin filming in September, with a planned premiere in 2027.

The series features an ensemble cast including Alexandre Nero, Clara Moneke, and Alanis Guillen. Nero will portray Werneck, a powerful and controversial transport tycoon known as the 'King of the Bus.' The plot follows Werneck's obsession with Silene, played by Moneke, a massage therapist and companion who maintains her virginity.

Alanis Guillen will play Maria Cecília, Werneck's daughter, who maintains an image of purity while hiding a secret life and involvement in a crime. The production is directed by Joana Jabace and written by George Moura and Sergio Goldenberg. The story is set in Rio de Janeiro.
