Globoplay greenlights series adaptation of Raphael Montes novel

Globoplay has greenlit a series adaptation of ‘Uma Mulher no Escuro’ (A Woman in the Dark), a psychological thriller novel by acclaimed Brazilian crime author Raphael Montes. The project is being produced by A Fábrica, a Brazilian fiction label under Banijay Entertainment, in collaboration with Montes’s development studio, Casa Montes.

The story follows Victoria Bravo, a woman attempting to rebuild her life twenty years after witnessing the brutal murder of her family. The plot intensifies when she becomes convinced that the killer has returned, leading to a mystery involving suspects within her immediate circle. The original novel was awarded the Jabuti Literary Prize for Best Entertainment Novel.

This collaboration marks a continued partnership between A Fábrica and Montes, following previous works such as ‘A Estranha na Cama’ for Netflix. A Fábrica continues to expand its fiction catalog following the global success of the Netflix drama ‘Desperate Lies’ (Pedaço de Mim).
