Gloria Steinem and Robin Morgan, feminist icons, pass away

Feminist icons Gloria Steinem and Robin Morgan have passed away. Steinem died at the age of 92 at her home in New York City. A journalist and activist, she was the founder of Ms. Magazine and a key figure in second-wave feminism. She was known for her advocacy of reproductive rights, workplace equality, and LGBTQ+ rights, and she frequently credited Black women leaders like Dorothy Pitman Hughes and Alice Walker for shaping the movement's principles.

Robin Morgan, a poet, editor, and activist, died at the age of 85. A former child star, Morgan became a prominent voice in the feminist movement, co-founding the Women’s Media Center alongside Steinem and Jane Fonda. She is credited with coining the term ‘herstory’ and was a central figure in historic protests, such as the 1968 demonstration against the Miss America pageant.
