Glory Philippines plans expansion into logistics and warehousing

Glory (Philippines), Inc. (GPI), a Japanese-owned manufacturer of currency-handling machines, has announced plans to expand its operations in the Philippines. The company intends to move beyond its current manufacturing role to include logistics, warehousing, packaging, quality inspection, and customization services.

During a consultation with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), GPI officials sought guidance on structuring these new activities within the PEZA framework to maximize available investment incentives. The company has operated in the Cavite Economic Zone since 1994 and currently employs over 1,300 Filipinos.

GPI President Shoichi Onishi stated that the company views the Philippines as a “strategic partner supporting future global growth” rather than just a production base. The Cavite facility serves as a key export hub for Glory Ltd.’s global supply chain, supplying markets in Asia, Europe, and North America.
