Gloucester Rugby defeats Harlequins 48-0 to reach Premiership summit

Gloucester Rugby moved to the top of the Gallagher Premiership standings following a dominant 48-0 victory over Harlequins at Kingsholm. The win marks Gloucester’s third consecutive victory across all competitions.

Gloucester scored eight tries, including efforts from Ben Loader, Jac Morgan, Will Trenholm, Charlie Atkinson, Seb Atkinson, Caolan Englefield, Will Joseph, and George Barton. Harlequins failed to score, marking their worst league defeat since 2000. Harlequins head coach Jason Gilmore described the performance as ‘totally unacceptable,’ citing disciplinary issues and a significant penalty deficit of 21-5.

The defeat leaves Harlequins at the bottom of the table. Former Harlequins prop Joe Marler also drew attention to the result by sharing critical social media assessments of the club’s performance.
