Gloucestershire police seize £300,000 in stolen machinery
Operation Alchemy, a multi-agency crackdown on rural crime, resulted in the seizure of suspected stolen plant machinery and equipment valued at over £300,000. The coordinated day of action involved 10 agencies working across Gloucestershire and Herefordshire to target organized crime affecting countryside communities.
During the operation, police executed six warrants at farm sites and commercial premises in Pendock, Staunton, Redmarley, Stroud, and Ledbury. Six individuals were arrested in connection with the investigation. Notable recoveries included a dumper truck that had been reported stolen from Cardiff on the same morning the operation took place.
