Gloucestershire rail works to cause weekend disruption in October
Major railway improvement works are scheduled to cause disruption in Gloucestershire during October. Great Western Railway (GWR) is supporting Network Rail with track renewals and maintenance on the weekends of October 10-11 and October 17-18.
During these periods, train services will not run between Gloucester and Cheltenham Spa or Worcester Foregate Street. The disruption coincides with the Cheltenham Literature Festival, which runs from October 9 to October 18. While replacement road transport will be provided, passengers are advised that journey times are likely to increase.
Other services, including those between Gloucester and Swindon, London Paddington, Bristol Temple Meads, and Westbury, will continue to operate. CrossCountry and Transport for Wales will also maintain specific routes through Gloucester.
