Glovis Slovakia employees prepare for indefinite strike

Employees at Glovis Slovakia, a logistics and distribution supplier for Kia Slovakia in Teplička nad Váhom, are preparing for an indefinite strike starting Tuesday, September 8. The labor action is scheduled to begin with the afternoon shift at 14:00, accompanied by a protest assembly near the Kia Slovakia entrance.

The dispute stems from failed collective bargaining for the 2026–2028 period. Despite nine rounds of negotiations and mediation by the Ministry of Labor, union representatives from OZ KOVO and company management failed to reach an agreement. Union leader Dušan Babinský stated that while the union accepted the mediator's proposal, the employer rejected it. The union claims the employer's proposal would fail to provide necessary wage increases for nearly half of the workforce.
