Glovo Kenya and eBee launch ‘She Delivers’ to train female couriers
Glovo Kenya and e-mobility company eBee have launched ‘She Delivers’, a training programme designed to increase female participation among delivery couriers. The initiative aims to raise the percentage of women on Glovo’s Kenyan platform from 1% to 5% within one year.
The first cohort consists of 16 women who will receive instruction from eBee. The training covers electric bicycle handling, defensive road safety, basic maintenance, navigation, and platform readiness, such as managing orders and finding addresses. By utilizing electric bicycles instead of motorbikes, the programme seeks to reduce physical exertion and lower operating costs for participants.
Glovo currently maintains more than 2,500 active daily couriers in Kenya. Reaching the 5% target would require adding approximately 100 more women to the platform. The partnership also aims to promote sustainable urban transport by transitioning last-mile delivery toward zero-emission electric mobility.
