Gölpazarı sunflower cultivation expands by 11,700 decares

Sunflower cultivation areas in the Gölpazarı district of Bilecik have increased by 11,700 decares over the last three years. According to Farmer Registration System data, oilseed sunflower planting areas grew from 19,800 decares in 2023 to 31,500 decares in 2026.

This expansion is attributed to support and grant programs implemented by the Ministry and the Bilecik Special Provincial Administration. These initiatives included the distribution of grant-supported seeds to local producers. Gölpazarı District Governor Onur Titiz participated in a harvest event in Karaağaç Village, noting that the increase in production areas is a source of pride and affirming that support for farmers will continue to strengthen regional agricultural production.
