Gölyazı Ancient Theater restoration project aims to boost Bursa tourism

Nilüfer Municipality is working to restore the Gölyazı Ancient Theater to functional use to boost regional tourism. Nilüfer Mayor Shadi Özdemir recently inspected the site alongside officials from the Bursa Culture and Tourism Directorate and the Bursa Archaeology Museum to review ongoing excavation progress.

Mayor Özdemir stated that negotiations regarding allocation and protocol processes are underway to ensure the theater becomes an active cultural site. The project aims to integrate the theater with local facilities in Fadıllı, floating piers, and improved transportation to create a comprehensive tourism network.

The development plan seeks to balance tourism growth with the preservation of local agriculture. The vision includes creating a tourism corridor spanning Gölyazı, Akçalar, Fadıllı, and Ayvaköy, featuring Mysia Ways, walking and cycling routes, paragliding facilities, and dedicated spaces for digital nomads.
