Güímar man arrested for alleged gender violence

A man has been arrested in Güímar following an incident of alleged gender-based violence. The arrest occurred in the early hours of Friday, September 11, after a woman called emergency services for help. The victim reported being attacked and trapped in a room with her minor daughter.

Local police arrived at the residence to find the woman suffering from serious facial injuries. Officers located the suspect hiding in one of the rooms and took him into custody immediately. Both the woman and her daughter received medical assistance and professional counseling. The suspect faces a potential prison sentence of between two and five years.
